What Do I Talk About?

When I visit schools, I talk to students about how I fell in love with reading and writing. As a kid, I couldn't stop telling stories—until I got to middle school. At that point, I was bullied about my writing, and I felt so embarrassed that I gave it up for many years.

I walk students through how I overcame those fears and rediscovered my voice—and I encourage kids to stick with their passions, despite worries that others might not understand. The world needs their stories.
